Safely escape the battlefield
I was recruited into the Russian Armed Forces. How can I safely surrender to Ukrainian forces?
Surrendering is possible, it is safe, and many nationals from all over the world have already done it successfully.

Contact the "I Want to Live" project before you surrender
The safest way to surrender is with preparation. Contact the I Want to Live project via Telegram bot: t.me/kak_sdatsya_bot. The conversation is confidential.

If you are already at the front line and need to act immediately
- Put down your weapon visibly and raise your hands
- Do not make sudden movements
- If you have a white cloth, flag, or any light-colored material — use it
- Clearly state that you want to surrender — "Ya sdayus!" or "Ya hochu zhyt!"

What happens after you surrender
You will be treated as a prisoner of war under international law. You will receive medical attention, food, and shelter. You will have the right to contact your country's embassy.
Your life is worth more than a contract you were likely deceived into signing.
